Your Bullshit Threshold Throughout Your Menstrual Cycle

Listen up ladies. πŸ‘‚

You are not being crazy when you give your mansplaining coworker a piece of your mind the day your period starts.

You are not irrational for telling that guy on Tinder to STFU for giving an opinion no one asked for while dealing with PMS.

You are not being unreasonable or illogical.

Your bullshit threshold has just reached its limit and you no longer have the patience to deal with it! πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ

Hormone Changes

Following menstruation, estrogen rises in preparation for ovulation, which is when it peaks. During ovulation, progesterone also rises as the uterine lining develops. These increased hormone levels give you more energy and brain power and, thus, more tolerance for BS. These phases are characterized by such sentiments as β€œIt’s fine.” β€œNo problem.” β€œSorry!” β€œOh sure! Let me just rearrange my entire schedule!” πŸ˜‡

During the second half of your luteal phase (after ovulation - before period onset), estrogen and progesterone levels plummet. When those hormones reach their lowest levels, that tells your body you aren’t pregnant and to begin menstruation. As your body discards the monthly buildup of the lining of your uterus, your BS tolerance is the lowest and you feel your most β€œEff you.” β€œImma cut you.” and β€œI don’t want to share my air space with you.” thoughts. πŸ”ͺ

Channeling your witch vibes

You are entitled to speak up all the time and I encourage you to channel that energy the rest of the month instead of plastering on a smile while you die a little on the inside. The only time a lot of women can overcome their people pleasing tendencies is when their BS threshold is low but it doesn't have to be this way.

If you want help feeling empowered in your body and your life so you can be your authentic self all month long, let’s work together! Got questions? Schedule a strategy call!
