Hormone Balancing Green Smoothie

 

I love a good smoothie! They are delicious. They are low effort. You dump and you blend. Truthfully, I rarely even measure! Every time you make one, it's an opportunity to support your body and balance hormones!

Today, I’m sharing my go to 💚green smoothie recipe for regulating hormones. I love it because it is full of magnesium, antioxidants, probiotics, and omega 3s. The protein and fat provide balance that helps you stabilize blood sugar and keep you fuller longer. It’s also a great source of fiber that feeds good bacteria in the gut that supports immune function, mood, & hormone balance.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soy milk (Protein)

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (Protein, Probiotics)

  • 1 cup frozen berries (Fiber, Antioxidants)

  • 3 handfuls spinach (Fiber, Antioxidants)

  • 1/2 avocado (Omega 3s)

  • 1 banana (Fiber, Magnesium)

  • 2 thumb sizes fresh ginger (Antioxidants)

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon (Antioxidants and also slows avocado browning)

I like to make this recipe with Siggi’s Dairy 2% coconut yogurt and serve it over Post Grape Nuts cereal! Sometimes I’ll add chia seeds for more healthy fats.

Directions

Add your milk and yogurt to the blender first. Next, add the frozen berries followed by the spinach, avocado, and banana. Then, add the ginger and lemon juice. Start blending at a low speed. Increase the speed and blend until you reach your desired consistency. Enjoy!

Note: depending on what type of berries you use, it may affect the color of your smoothie, but it will still taste great!
