Vital Proteins: My Fave Protein Powder for Happy Hormones

Protein is an essential macronutrient for achieving these goals and adding Vital Proteins Protein Powder to meals and snacks is a great way to make sure you are getting adequate amounts of protein each day!

Protein powder is not a substitute for a balanced plate, but when you think about it from an additive perspective you have the opportunity to give your meals and snacks a solid protein boost!

Vital Proteins is my personal favorite protein powder. Here are the reasons why!

1. The protein comes from animal derived sources (milk protein isolate and collagen peptides), which have the highest bioavailable amino acids. This means the body can use them most effectively and efficiently.

2. It’s low in sugar. Use of artificial sweeteners or added sugar isn't ideal for microbiome health and can defeat the purpose. You want to pass on brands that list a sugar variation as the first ingredient.

3. Digestibility. The more digestible a protein powder is, the easier it is for the body to use the nutrients. This comes back to the amino acid composition. Animal sources are typically digested faster than plant protein sources.
